Fight The Power Attorney Answers 3

What happened? I’ve got clients that have been victims of covert tracking and associated with crimes and investigations, because law enforcement used unauthorized cell tower simulators to associate individuals in and outside the scope of the investigation, without oversight.

(The Cell-Site Simulator Warrant Act of 2023 (H.R. 6194) aims to regulate the use of cell-site simulators, also known as Stingrays, by law enforcement and intelligence agencies. These devices mimic cell towers to collect data from nearby phones, often without users' knowledge or consent. The bill seeks to prohibit unauthorized use and require warrants for deployment, ensuring oversight and protecting individuals from covert tracking.)

What would you like to see happen? I want to see legislation to address the problem, starting with HR6914: (2) I want to see law enforcement prohibited from using unregulated interception of Cell Tower Signals
How do you think others can help? Call your state senator today and tell him or her to vote for the 2023 Cell Tower Simulator Warrant Act.
