What happened? I was placed in a moral bind—caught between truth and self-preservation. I began to be afraid of being exposed for doing the right thing.
What you'd like to see happen? I’d like to see a centralized unit dedicated to streamlining intake, protecting identities, and ensuring that the information leads to action without exposing the source.
How can others help? I think we all should be asking for cultural and structural change. That means pushing for anonymous reporting platforms like WeTip that promise full confidentiality and advocating for stronger witness protection programs like those outlined by the U.S. Department of Justice. It also means educating communities about their rights and options, so fear doesn’t silence truth.
